The 2017 Ford Ranger will be the first generation Ranger that will be released in the United States for the first time after debuted in 2011. The F-150 is Ford’s other larger truck would be affected by the sales of the release of this model in the US. There will be a more aggressive and rugged look on the outside of the new Ford Ranger as it will ride on the new Ford Atlas Platform. The exterior panels are made of durable steel and lightweight aluminum materials that will considerably reduce the curb weight but still with rigid strength. Compared to previous generation model, there will be somewhat longer and wider dimension and wheelbase of the new 2017 Ford Ranger. New better chassis is paired with updated front and rear bumpers, and grille. LED technology is added to the lighting sector making brighter and sharper headlights and taillight.

Compared to the predecessor, the cabin will be completely redesigned with more luxurious, roomy, and more comfortable design. There are more legroom and headroom inside the cabin which increases comfort for the passengers in the 2017 Ford Ranger. There will also be 1000 pounds maximum capacity for luggage which is more generous than the previous. Premium fabric material is used vastly inside the cabin for the seats. Front seats are electric and heated while rear passengers get infotainment screens.

A 3.2 liters five-cylinder TDCi engine is standard on the new Ranger boosting 197 hp and 345 pound-feet torque. There is an increase of 18% fuel economy due to the application of the latest technologies for the engine. Fuel economy returns at 30 mpg highway and 21 mpg city. A 2.2 liters TDCi engine can generate 158 hp and 285 pound-feet of torque. 2.5 liters direct injected Duratec gasoline engine delivers 163 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive are standard for 2017 Ford Ranger.
