The new 2017 Ford Flex will please new and previous owners thanks to its more stylish interior, exterior, and a potent engine. The Ford Flex was debuted in 2008 and has pleased many shoppers seeking for a cost-effective roomy family SUV with its 7 seating configuration. As the Ford Freestar minivan was discontinued, the company replaced it with the new Flex. In 2013, the Ford Flex got a major facelift though the public did not impress with it. Now, the carmaker gives it another try for the 2017 year model.

The large SUV is expected to get its exterior extensive modern touches. Compared to the current model, the upcoming 2017 Ford Flex will ride on the Ford D4 platform which offers a lighter body weight as the body panels and structure use lightweight materials. This means the SUV will have significantly different overall design language. The body retains its boxy shape but will be more desirable and bigger. The front parts with be revised with new LED headlights, an updated bumper and a new chromed grille with chrome framing. The 2017 Ford Flex will also get rear bumper revised and LED taillights at the back.
2017 Ford Flex Engine And Performance
There will be better fuel efficiency and an enhanced performance offered by two engine options under the hood of the Flex. A 3.5-L V-6 is offered for the base model that generates 287 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy is estimated at 25 mpg highway and 18 mpg city. There is another 3.5-L V-6 engine that is equipped with twin-turbochargers that can boost 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet available for higher trim models. Fuel economy is estimated at 23 mpg highway and 16 mpg city. A 6-speed automatic transmission system and front wheel drives are standard while all-wheel drive is optional. It is rumored that Ford will give 2017 Ford Flex with a new 9-speed automatic transmission.
