Targeted for the American car market, Volkswagen’s new forthcoming launch will be the 2017 VW CrossBlue. Audiences at the 2015 Detroit auto show witnessed the introduction of the concept design of this crossover. This year, Volkswagen has started the production process of this car. The model last year was little in sales percentage, but the new VW CrossBlue hopefully will boost its market sales. Shoppers can expect to see the new exterior design, best interior comfort elements, and a powerful engine that should surpass its competitors in the category. It is predicted to be available in the fall of 2016 starting at $32,000.

The new MBQ platform will replace that of the outgoing VW CrossBlue SUV that will be lighter in weight and more flexible than the previous. There will be more generous passengers and cargo space inside due to the larger chassis compared to the previous model. This full-size three-row SUV will position itself between VW Tiguan and Tuareg in term of the seating capacity. At the front, the grille and headlights are new and slimmer while the front bumpers are bolder that give the more aggressive look to the SUV. There will also be a coupe model of 2017 VW CrossBlue in the future that comes in a five-seat configuration, unlike the SUV model.

The new CrossBlue is powered by the hybrid engine that combines diesel and electric motor. The 2-liter turbo four-cylinder diesel engine is paired with two electric motors and is mated with a six-speed dual clutch DSG automatic transmission. The diesel engine can generate 190 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The first electric motor is located at the front that can produce 54 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque located while the second one is placed at the rear generating 114 hp and 199 lb-ft. The 2017 VW CrossBlue SUV can hit 7 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph from zero.
