2017 VW Taigun Changes and Upgrades

2017 VW Taigun will be the new crossover vehicle from the Volkswagen to let the carmaker to be able to compete against MINI Countryman, Nissan Juke, and Suzuki SX4. The Taigun concept was introduced at India International Motor Show in 2014 for the first time, and it was able to draw everyone’s attention. Now, the concept is going to be in production process and it should be available to buy shortly.

The next generation Taigun will replace the VW CrossFox that has been discontinued for a while. The Taigun’s production start after it has been out in the open for 4 years. The new Tiguan will look much bumpier but with better equipments and specs from the model it replaces. The exterior of 2017 VW Taigun is very functional and looks rugged. The tailgate expands throughout to rear bumper flanked with the modern taillights which share the same look with the Tiguan.

The body is 20 inches shorter and narrower than the Tiguan which lead to smaller cabin space as well as less cargo, leg and head room. The 4-seater crossover can fit two adults in the back seat. The dashboard features chrome stripping and simple three-key instrument display. There are much more high tech features inside the cabin of 2017 VW Taigun including navigation system, USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, and smartphone integration.

The compact crossover can match Tiguan easily in term of performance. A 1.0 liter direct injected turbocharged 3-cylinder gasoline engine gives power to the car boosting 108 hp and 129 lb-ft of torque. This figure is slightly better than the equal engine of the previous VW models. It can hit 9.2 seconds to accelerate 62 mph before it reach 116 mph of top speed. 2017 VW Taigun’s fuel economy rating is average at 50 mpg for combined driving.
