The fifth generation model was debuted in 1992 and the 2014 year model is the latest version of this popular mid-size sedan. The sedan is also called Fusion for North America market. It finally receives significant updates after a few years of production. This January, the Fusion got some refreshment and the new Ford Mondeo will follow somewhere at the end of this year.
2017 Ford Mondeo Changes
Changes and freshness will be significant for this year model. More advanced technologies and updated styling will be introduced similar to the 2017 Fusion. Expect to see several new things on the car’s appearance. Some new parts will be installed into 2017 Ford Mondeo though the basic shape is kept. At the front, there are the most revisions done including the grille, headlights and bumper.
2017 Ford Mondeo Cabin
The changes inside 2017 Ford Mondeo are minor with pretty much the same design, but Ford gives new, higher quality materials. Noise insulation is one of the updates that make huge effect on noise reduction. Plethora of new technologies will be installed inside the cabin. There will be slight revision on the center console including infotainment system and new safety and drive-assist equipment. Cruise control, pre-impact assist with pedestrian recognition, a lane-keeping assist, and lethargy driver alerts are standard. Parallel and perpendicular parking ability is added into its parking assist.
2017 Ford Mondeo Engine
Engine is available in gasoline and diesel option. The gasoline drivetrain are available in four variants that deliver different power from 125 to 240 hp. There are also five diesel variants available that boost from 115 to 210 hp. A 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed automatic is available. A stronger 320-hp twin-turbo engine is expected to be offered for 2017 Ford Mondeo similar to that of the 2017 Fusion.
