2017 Lamborghini LP 620-2 Super Trofeo will be the all-new Huracán-based race car that will compete in the next one-make racing series of Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. The race has been held in Europe, Asia, and North America. Being the largest new car’s RWD configuration, its specifications are very diverse to those of the previous Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo as its name suggests.

There is only the rear wheels drive available and compared its base road-version Huracán LP 610-4, it is slightly stronger. Both share the same 5.2-liter V-10 naturally aspirated engine but the road car offers 601 hp while the 2017 Lamborghini LP 620-2 Super Trofeo can boost 611 hp. To aim for the Italian motorsport in the future, the Super Trofeo drivers’ grounding for GT racing will be assisted with the switch to rear-wheel drive. There is now 2,800 pounds for the weight of the cars which is a reduction by switching to rear-wheel drive. The weight of the road-going Huracán is about 330 pounds heavier than the race car.

Traction and downforce are also improved and efficiency is better due to the new aerodynamics package. Front and tail diffusers, a ten-position tail wing, and adjustable forward air intakes are main upgrades. Pirelli supplies the tires. The Huracán and the Gallardo have been race in different classes in the same the grid. The present Gallardo GT3 has already replaced by the Huracán GT3-spec car. The Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo has already been seen at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance together with a special Aventador LP 700-4.
